Certificate in Information Technology (CIT)
This is 120- hour course (4 week course) is an introductory program into the information systems discipline. It prepares students with techniques, tools and methods used today in the development and use of computer-based applications. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion.
Course objective: to teach and to prepare students for a wide variety of IT areas to include but not limited to: basic fundamentals of the computer, common information technology terminology, basic computer based applications, software platforms such as: Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point, Moodle and security systems.

Unit Medical Secretary
This 560 clock hour course (16 week course) and is delivered by theory & skills lab in the MCS training classroom & clinical experience in the hospital to obtain a unit clerk certificate using skills acquired listed in the training objectives.
Course objective: To teach and train individuals how to manage medical information, process physician orders in a hospital, nursing home or physician office. Unit clerks play a vital role in managing information flow in hospitals, nursing homes and doctor’s offices.

Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program
This 172 hour course (8 week course) and is delivered by theory & skills lab in the MCS training classroom and clinical experience in the hospitals or nursing home to obtain a BNA certificate using skills acquired listed in training objectives.
Upon completion of the program, students receive a certificate of completion as a Basic Nurse Assistant and are eligible to take the State Examination. Upon passing the State Examination individuals are Certified Nurse Assistant.
Employer Job Titles: Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT).
Course objective: To teach and train individuals to help care for patients and to provide support to members of the nursing team. BNAs provide care to patients and provide support to members of the nursing team under the supervision of a registered nurse and licensed practical nurse.

Psychiatric Technician Program
This 202 total course (190 hours / 8 weeks) that includes theory (105 hours) and skills (40 hours) and clinical (57 hours) experience to obtain a basic psychiatric rehabilitation technician certificate using skills acquired listed in training objectives.
Midwest Career Source is now a Certified Nurse Assistant/Psychiatric Technician Apprenticeship Program through the United States Department of Labor.
Course objective: To teach and train individuals to help care for patients and to provide support to members of the nursing team under the supervision of a registered professional and licensed practical nurse. The Illinois Department of Public Health’s Program model will be used. Upon successful completion students will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to take the State Examination as a Certified Nursing Assistant with a Certificate as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Technician.

Medical Clinical Assistant
This course is 424 clock hours that includes theory and lab experience to prepare competent entry-level medical assistants in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.
Course objective: The program prepares students to support and assist the physician in the medical office and nursing Team in clinical operations, designed to prepare individuals with an entry-level medical assistant opportunity with practical experience (hands on) in concert with their classroom training. This is accomplished by providing curriculum relating to patient care skills, general study, and administrative/business skills to work in the healthcare setting.
Upon successful completion students will receive a certification of completion and eligible to take the National Healthcare Association examination.
